Purpose: Study elastic properties of vascular bed among patients with diabetes, II type.
Object and research methods: 63 patients with diabetes, II type, medium-malignant form, 23 patients with case history up to 5 years and 40 patients with case history more than 5 years were inspected.
Research of vascular walls condition was accomplished with the use of ambulatory blood pressure monitor manufactured by “Petr Telegin” (Nizhny Novgorod) and BPLab-software.
10 practically healthy male aged from 42,5 ± 6,4 years who made a control group were included in the research.
Statistical data processing was fulfilled with the standard software kit Microsoft Excel and Statistica.
Results: The current research approved increase of pulse wave velocity among patients with diabetes, II type in comparison with the control group: 138 ± 5,1. It should be noted that this rate was reliably higher among patients with case history more than 5 years (158,8 ± 1,3) in comparison with patients who suffer diabetes, II type, less than 5 years. A reliable increase of augmentation index depending on disease period length was in evidence; its maximum rate was measured in the group of patients with case history more than 5 years: 64 ± 1,6%.
Conclusion: Patients with diabetes II type experience decrease of vascular walls elasticity characterized by increase of pulse wave velocity and augmentation index which rise relatively to disease period.
